To clean up in between and then bolt or weld them back together ?
Mine are in pretty good shape but where there isn't rivets I can slip a putty knife into and can see grit and dirt (probably rust) in there.
I did a search but didn't come up with much

Low $ approach: clean yours up, sandblast, then weld on reinforcing plates, like ECE's kit. Easy project if you have a welder.

They're in great shape.
I was mostly concerned with just getting all the crap out from in between them,and getting some rust protection in there.

If it's just the rust issue, I would just clean them the best you can and then brush some POR15 in that seam really heavy so it runs between the halves. Do this from both sides, and it should seal that area up from further rusting. Another option would be to weld that seam up continous. You would want to do it in steps and alternate from side to side to minimize warpage.

If I don't split them (which I probably won't after looking at ALL THOSE RIVETS yesterday) that's the plan,load 'em up
I don't think I need to stitch them though.
Lots of talk on here about how weak they are,I've looked at a lot of these trucks over the years and I've never seen a collapsed one,beaten and bruised, yes,bent up and non usable,no.
All I can think when I hear that stuff is that the farmers son (or nephew,etc) decided he would attempt some Dukes of Hazzard stunts with the old girl

I too have run a contiuous bead along a set years ago for a customer with a 65 .... (long b4 I was into these trucks)

His driver-side TA actually let go at the front bushing location.

So we cleaned then up, and welded up the seams.

I noticed on my C-20 arms, they have a longer reinforcement plate rivoted under the spring (as compared to the C-10)...

Yes, if you have any available, the C-20 arms are a worthwhile easy upgrade for a C-10.
