Welding Helmet
So, I ran over my Miller welding helmet today
 and I've been looking everywhere for a new one, but I don't really want to shell out another couple hundred $$$ for another auto darkening one. Does anyone know where I can get one cheaper (preferably another Miller). I know that we have some fabricators on this side of the forum, so I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

I bought a Miller pro-hobby for about 140 auto darkening. if you go to a welding supply shop you could buy a pipeliners hood and add a auto darkening lens in for around 150.
the pipeliner hood is a harder plastic than the pro-hobby. but the pro hobby is lighter hood. I was thinking of getting a harbor freight hood but they dont sell the clear lenses for them you have to buy another hood. also we have the same avatar some kind of way.

Have you checked your local craigslist and ebay for good used ones? How about the online welding supply stores such as cyberweld.com? When it comes to welding hoods, I always recommend buying name brand. Your eyesight isn't something I would trust to a pos hood made overseas.

When I had to replace my very old Snap-On helmet, I ended up going with a Lincoln Viking series as it was almost identical to my Snap-On one. I got the plan black version as it was a little cheaper but you can get the cool pinstriped one. I happened to noticed watching Extreme 4x4 on Spike, this is the helmet they use (the pinstriped one) so it must be fairly good.
