402 PS pump bracket spacing - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Can somebody show or describe to me how to properly mount my ps pump onto the lower bracket for a long waterpump set up. There is about a 1/4 inch space between the 2, and I dont know how it is actually supposed to be from the factory. I bought 3 complete bracket and pulley sets from a board member a while ago, and none of them came with any kind of spacer. I dont want to just guess with washers, I would like to do it the correct way. Thanks, Mike

I just bolted my new lower bracket to the front of the block & then set the PS pump into the lower bracket.
No muss, no fuss, no spacers.

Well, thank you for the reply. I dont know what I have going on here, I guess I will just have to use washers and eyeball it, because they are not bent, and there is too much space to just squash it with a bolt. The mystery remains.

Stock pumps are short.Have to use latter brackets and pulleys to use a long pump.
