Re: What did you get done 9/12/2010

Finally got the '88 Suburban put back together just so I could move it from in front of the garage. I'm rethinking it's destiny... It may become a parts donor towards another project. It needs a ton of suspension and drivetrain help. I guess I'll start looking for a nicer, or at least more solid, Suburban.

I also finally took the '76 Blazer out for a nice long drive to get a feel for how it rides and handles. It doesn't love the interstate with the 3.42's and the TH400 trans with the 28.8" tall rear tire. Kinda high RPM's on the interstate, so I drove around the backroads. It's really fun on the twisty roads for such a big boat.

I washed the Burb, the Blazer and mine and my fiance's daily drivers too. Oh, and I grouted the tile I installed in my family room.

Re: What did you get done 9/12/2010

My daughter and I went to a car show Saturday, I picked up a Top 25. My sink base cabinet (kitchen) finally came in last week, installed it Saturday evening. Now I can finally measure for a new counter top. This kitchen project is going to end up taking 2 months. Gesh, I thought cars were bad. LOL.

Might be getting ready to start another truck project, Hummmmmm.

Went on vacation to Atlanta. While I was down there I stopped by lo72s house and picked up some truck parts. Bed floor, tailgate and front bed wall. Good stuff and even better price FREE.

Finished up my new tank and sending unit install. Took the truck out for a spin to see how well the new drag radials hook up. Stopped over at a friends house for a cold one, starter decided to take a dump when I went to leave. Its always something with my junk...

Re: What did you get done 9/12/2010

Finally got everything on my 350 swap hooked up, went to start it, and fuel was being pumped out of the top of the carb. Lost the needle valve while trying to fix it, and now waiting on another rebuild kit so I can fix this and finally get my truck started up!

Re: What did you get done 9/12/2010

Well as some of you all know, I sold my 84 swb awhile back. I also had no choice but to sell my 2006 Silverado Z-71 with lift and all this weekend. Times are hard rite now. The good news is that i still got my 84 k10 and am currently looking for a swb square. I still got my 20'' Coys and the cowl hood waitin for the next square. So I pretty much spent the weekend looking for a square and I think i found one. Hope i get it

Re: What did you get done 9/12/2010

New seals on the input shaft side of the steering box.

New cap and rotor
Still need to plug up my tranny and engine oil pan leaks

Tranny also started slightly slipping into reverse. Goodbye to that clutch

Re: What did you get done 9/12/2010

Two separate trips to pick-&-pull JY netted a set of caliper cores, a complete 1994 burban EFI harness for future project and a power steering box core. Power steering box took two days - lucky for me no one else had a fork and 3 lb sledge to separate pitman arm from drag links.
A trip to napa netted more brake parts - pads and freshly rebuild calipers. I prefer to keep OE parts just in case and return JY sourced cores.

Next weekend - complete front end brake job.

Trying to find steering box rebuilding service (found one in MO - www.powersteering.com)

Spent quality time with my wife -> must keep everyone happy!!!
