'05 Crew Cab Power Locks
I've owned my truck going on 3 years now and recently I've had problems with the rear doors not locking with the key fob or with the switch on the driver and passenger doors. The front doors lock fine. I've not taken it to the local dealer because I believe that's where the problem originated. Long story, but over the past year everytime I would have it serviced something on the truck would "magically" stop working when I picked it up where as it was working before I dropped it off. The door locks is the most recent issue. Before that the AC wasn't working when I picked it up. It was 110 degrees when I dropped it off, trust me I know the AC was working. When I carried it back and complained they immediately jumped on it and fixed the "problem". The service guy wouldn't even tell me what was wrong with it. He just kept telling me they took care of me.
Anyway, I have since quit using that dealer because I don't trust them anymore. Back to the original question, is there something I can check myself as to why the rear locks aren't working? Thanks.

Re: '05 Crew Cab Power Locks
Shannon, pull the trim panel off and make sure the actuator is plugged in. The door lock actuator is part of the latch, so it made have "come" unplugged. They are going out left and right on the newer trucks (07-up), but I don't know if they were as problematic on the older ones.

Re: '05 Crew Cab Power Locks
Thanks for the reply JB.
I failed to mention in my opening post that if I lock the rear doors manually they'll unlock with the key fob and with the switch on the driver's door. Does this change anything as far as what to check?

Re: '05 Crew Cab Power Locks
GM has updated there relays for the power door locks. The are not expensive. The relays are located under the cover on the drivers side of the dash with the drivers door open. I had the same issue with mine, the contacts are worn out in the relays and need replaced.

Re: '05 Crew Cab Power Locks
This old thread fixed my rear door locking problem. They would unlock fine, but would not lock. I tested by swiching the two relays and the problem reversed itself. $12 at the parts store and my door locks were fixed. Thanks to all!

Re: '05 Crew Cab Power Locks
I have a 2006 crewcab. My driver side rear door will not lock. I tried a relay it didn't fix it. Do I have to reset the battery or something to get the relay to work? Even when I manually lock the door , you can still open it. Anyone got any ideas?

Re: '05 Crew Cab Power Locks
In my case the bad relay affected both rear doors I did not have to do anything with the remote or the battery I also tested by switching the relays

Re: '05 Crew Cab Power Locks
Yeah, it's probably my door lock actuator.
