WTB- good steering column
Ok, well now that I have run into a problem with my 4x4 and the steering shaft not wanting to swivel down, I have decided to buy a new steering column instead of welding pieces together.
I am looking for a very nice column, preferably rebuilt, for my '72 GMC 4x4 with a manual tranny. Pics would be great. I think this is my best route for the time, money and hassle.

Anyone know any vendors that sell such a thing? I am looking for basically a bolt in steering column that will last a while and is in good shape.

Most of the venders listed on the home page have rebuilt columns. A few have used stock too. Is it a column, or floor shift manual?

Thanks for the reply. It's a floor shift manual so it would be nice to find one with just about nothing on it, except for the essential turn signal and whatnot.
Maybe I'll start calling the vendors today. Thanks again!

I have parts from my 4 speed column. What parts would you need for your old one if you didnt want to get a new one?

Jay- Well, I put a body lift on the truck and so the steering shaft needed to be lengthened and angled down a bit. Sounds easy enough until I realized that my steering shaft did not have that u-joint that would allow it to swivel down to meet the rag-joint.
Soooo, I figured instead of cutting the shaft and welding on the new piece that has a u-joint, I just figured that I would get a new column to save me the time and aggravation. But I do have a deal in the works for a used column that I might pick up from another board member but I do thank you for your offer.
