Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

Random question, what did you do for your harness for the 5.3l? Did you have someone work the original harness?

Sorry it didn't work out. Send me some dimensions (and pics of the backside of the gauges) and I'll get some brackets for you. I have actually been waiting on you before I put in my next order, so I can get everything at once.

Dennis...waiting on the pics.

Got your PM, I'll call you once the kids are in bed, about 7 your time.

PS - yes, the trim ring comes off the large gauges too.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

huh... i just went and looked at them again. i think the flash of the camera makes the little bit of epoxy on the volt gauge stand out. i sure cant see it just looking at it. what do y'all think??? the small 2 1/16" gauges look alright in there??

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

and for those interested i was totally against tearing the gauges apart and gluing them on the bezel but after Jeff's bracket idea and the fact that this 2 part epoxy stuff gets really hot and bonds like a weld i changed my mind on it. if i ever need to get another gauge or have a problem with them i'll just have to cut them off i guess. just for the clean look of the gauges mashed flat against the bezel is worth it for me
