Vibration from the speedometer

Here lately I have been hearing a vibration coming from my speedometer. I don't hear it all the time but when I do hear it I noticed the neetle on the speedometer jumping back and forth 5 mph or so. Has this ever happened to anyone else, and what can I do to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Re: Vibration from the speedometer

Take your speedometer out, then pull the speedometer cable out of the housing. It's a long metal cable that is very flexible. Put some rubber gloves on and get some bearing grease or something, and put a coat of it on the cable and reinstall. Is very easy to do and takes no time at all really. My speedo was bouncing like crazy before, but after I did this it smoothed it out very well and got rid of the noise.

Re: Vibration from the speedometer

I did the same thing, It took care of the problem. I used white lithium grease.
