My new 2wd blazer

Finally, my new blazer

I found it on Ebay last week.

1970 2wd in great condition. Front suspension creaks and rattles very bad!! but other than that, I am very happy.

Anybody have a set of original seatbelts?

Thinking of bagging it. Any suggestions?

In the process of making myself a contraption to take the top off, the weather is nice!!

Re: My new 2wd blazer

Looks very nice!

FYI - I did extensive research into booster seats in non-shoulder belt seats and basically it is safer to have the child sit on the seat with the belt rather than the booster. The boosters are designed to position the child higher for the shoulder belts and really doesn't do anything in a non-shoulder belt situation but put them higher and add further from the seat that is secured to the floor. I checked with the Washington State Highway patrol and they confirmed it is legal, and safer, for the child to go without the booster in vehicles that aren't equipped with shoulder belts.

Re: My new 2wd blazer

Someone did a really nice job on that Blazer. All you need is some carpet in the back and to drive the wheels off of it! Good info on the boosters Bouncy. I never knew that. Of course all of my kids rode around without seatbelts or anything back then.

x2! On both the blazer and bagging it! I can't say you won't be sorry as I'm not done with bagging mine yet, but you can't argue with the looks if you like 'em low.

I love that truck.
I've had a picture of it on my inspiration wall for quite awhile now.
It was on eBay last year, beautiful truck. You'll love it.

Re: My new 2wd blazer

Nice score. I'd give my left .... for a clean truck like that. Not as many 2WD units left in that condition.

Keep us posted on the progress.

Re: My new 2wd blazer

Finally got the top removed and all the squeaks and rattles taken care of. I used early classic enterprises drop spindles and stock springs in front. The front sets a little higher than the rear. Any suggestions for an easy fix? I still might say the hell with it and just bag the front and use shrader valves. Cash is running low and the ole lady is grumbling, might have to wait awhile

Re: My new 2wd blazer

Simply stunning!! I'd wait a couple weeks or so to see if the springs settle in the front, if you're sure they are seated correctly. If they don't, you could just chop some off the stock springs and toss em on for a free fix. Or contact ECE showing them the pics if you bought the whole thing as a kit to see if they have anything to offer you...

Re: My new 2wd blazer

Did the last owner give any details on how much the rear was dropped before? If it's dropped 5 or 6 in the back then a 2.5/5 or 6 would sit a little high up front. You may have to get drop springs or cut a coil to level it out. Love that Blazer by the way. Good luck.
