Toolbox parts

I "aquired" a 1969 Chevy Fleetside C/20 350. One of the factory options it came with was a toolbox.

One of the owners along the way spot welded is shut and BONDO'd over it!!

The problem is that the latch is missing. Of course it's rusted, but that's not the problem. It's missing the box too. I was going to fabricate this stuff, but please tell me you guys have a source for this stuff. No luck at LMC or YearOne.

Jon

P.S. Made my screen name before I discovered that it was made in '69.

Thanks to "sharpie1972" . He has a box for me!

I still need a latch though. Does anyone know where I can get one? Thanks.

Re: Toolbox parts

I could have sworn I just saw new repop doors in either the LMC catalog or the Classic Parts one.

Re: Toolbox parts

@red71cheyenne- you wouldnt happen to have a link or anything would you? I tried again today, maybe I'm looking in the wrong area.

@slomotion- I don't feel bad, this is how I found it. It's a shame how degraded this thing is.

Does anyone have a link to decode option codes? This thing has a few and I'm curious about what they mean. Thanks

Jon

Re: Toolbox parts

Should I start a build thread?

I really need some help on pretty much everything. I found cheaper prices for parts on classicparts.com ...so is there a better place to get parts? I would rather buy quality than the best price.

I still need a latch for the box too. Any help on that?

Sharpie should be sending my box next week. I can't wait to fix that. I'll probably post pics on that as well. The whole thing was covered in bondo. I didn't know it had a toolbox until I saw the factory options on the glovebox lid.

The truck was used as a logging vehicle for years, so it's pretty beat up. I got it through a friend, so I know a alot about it.

So, any help or info would help alot. Thanks!

Jon

Re: Toolbox parts

Still need help, anyone?

Looking for a latch, or any information about that.

Are there factory service manuals for sale somewhere?

Re: Toolbox parts

I have a door and some door parts. It is not clear to me what you mean when you say latch. Do you need the part that mounts on the inside of the door and moves up and down to allow the door to open and close? Anybody have a picture of what is needed?

Re: Toolbox parts

James,

The door is welded on and the handle/lock/ are missing. I don't know about the hinges.

Another forum member (sharpie1972) is sending me a box.

There is another thread on here with some pics, but I can't find it.

Thanks for the help!

Jon
