I have heard about AIM being crappy. When I lowered my truck, I had to find some 85 drop springs (crossmember swap). they had them for about 70$. Turned out to be about 100$ with shipping and handling. But I have had no problems with them.

I got my lowering kit (springs, shocks, panhard bar, shock relocators) from Early Classic Enterprises (www.earlyclassic.com). Excellent stuff. $500
My front end rebuild kit (ball joints, tie rod ends, bushings, everything) came from Classic Performance (www.classicperform.com). Again, excellent parts and service. $250 or so. Everything I've heard about AIM has been low quality, but I have had no personal dealings with them (because of their reputation). Good luck, Scott

i've got drop spindles and springs from AIM all around on my 72 swb and my 72 suburban and i have had no problems so far. the prices were great. if you use spindles from AIM, you will need to change out the ball joints and tie rod ends because these spindles are for '73 and up. i don't know if paying a lot more for parts means you're getting quality or not. i'm pretty new to this stuff and i know that belltech, ECE, Chassis Tech, etc. have great quality stuff, but is the difference in quality worth the vast difference in the price? i don't know.
also, just as a side note, i looked at the 4" lowering coil springs for the rear of my suburban on the AIM site for $68. i called AIM and they told me that they didn't have a "heavy duty" spring especially designed for the suburban. i decided that i wanted a heavier duty springs for the weight of my suburban, so i found a member of this board that sells retail lowering products and he sold me a pair of "heavy duty" 4" lowering springs especially made for the suburban or panel truck for around $150. i thought, that's okay because i wanted something heavier duty. well, when the package arrived, these suckers were drop shipped straight from AIM!!! i was sick! all of the other parts i ordered were great, but i was sick paying $150 for a $68 spring. i've pm'd the member to make this right but have not heard from him. if he doesn't make this right in a couple of weeks, i'm going to broadcast his name so you can beware. keep both eyes open, folks.

I got everything from ECE.
Stan, is the Man!! I got a solid deal, and he split the shipping (actual costs not inflated to make up the diference costs) with me. Good people to do business with!

this is exactly what i been thinking of when i've been doing my comparison shopping.yeah, and it is a sham how some of these places will jack up the price of shipping to off-set the price of thier product.thanks for the replies guy's and thanks also to alexis for the heads up 'bout the shipping charges,i'll definitely be checking on that.
