Sunday drive

My mom and dad kept our boys, so we skipped church and took the truck out for a little drive yesterday.

We went up through Knoxville and Oak Ridge up to Oliver Springs, then on to a road called The Devil's Triangle. There wer some great photo-ops along the way, so here are some.

The first stop was at this old country church. I couldn't tell if it was still being used or not.

As if you wanted to see my ugly mug, but here I am doing my not so best James Dean.

Me sportin Zumo's shirt.

The wifey.

The next stop was at this blue & white service station called.........well.......the Blue & White Service Station.

The pumps looked like they still worked and had lights on, but nobody was home.

We made a couple more stops, but I didn't take pics of the truck. There were also other photo-ops, but we decided to save them for another trip.

Re: Sunday drive

After about 20 switchback curves later, we ended back up in downtown Oliver Springs, with some really neat old buildings.

I went across the street to the old drug store.....

.....where we had an interested audience.

In the alley behind the drug store.

We left Oliver Springs and drove over to Clinton, where I immediately found my next ride. Eat your heart out, B.A.

Anyone like trains?

You gotta check in at the depot, first.

Re: Sunday drive

Next we stopped in to see what was on at the movies...er...movie. Someone needs to photoshop "Steve McQueen in Bullitt" on the marquis.

We drove on over to Lake City, and over Norris Dam, but not before stopping in to take the lake view.

And finally we stopped in at the grist mill just south of the dam before heading home.

I know you guys won't have as much looking at the pics as much as we did taking them, but I still hope you enjoy them.

Re: Sunday drive

I'm glad you guys like the pics. We have some great scenic roads and small towns in this area. It's just really fun to drive these old trucks on the two lane highways they were designed for.

Re: Sunday drive

You all have a great looking truck, can only hope that my 67 stepper
can be half that nice.

Having spent my growing up years outside of maryville and not been back for too many years (caught up in my business) seeing your pictures really hit home and brought back fond memories of all that great country up there.

Thanks Again
