These are my measurements and pictures I took from the Heat Shield I have for my 402 BB.. I added a drawing along with them for anyone who would want to build thier own as I know they are hard to find and I have seen lots of requests on the forum for measurements ..so thought I would share.. I will be glad to answer questions regarding these pictures and the drawing measurements,,,,,,Gopapa Larry

Thanks to (68 50th forum member) here in these two pictures show where the heat shield goes
This shows the bolt holes location right next to hump on firewall down where the rear of the manifold will be when the motor is installed

This shows a heat shield all bolted up in it's proper place behind the exhaust manifold

Where does this shield fit on the engine, and what does it shield from heat?

Ray,

It bolts to the floor board on the big block trucks and is there to shield the right side manifold heat from the passenger compartment. The manifold comes real close the angled part of the floor board.

Thank you, Jim. I would never have known, unless maybe I installed a BB and my floor mat started smoking!
