Engine Harness
Hello
I bought a new engine harness for my 72 chevy c-10. On the end is the wiring for the solenoid/starter. I have a blue wire with a cap left over. Does anyone know where it goes? This truck did not have a engine before and the motor I got was taken off another 72 chevy c-10 which I was not there to take pictures and see where the connections went. Thanks to all |

Re: Engine Harness
Hello
It might but my engine oil pressure gauge has a tube that connects to the back of it. Meaning oil just might be running that gauge itself. I have searched for the male end of the switch for the blue wire to connect to it and so far no success Thanks |

Re: Engine Harness
Blue absolutely is the oil gauge/light wire. If you have a mechanical gauge you might not be using it, but that's what it is there for.

Re: Engine Harness
I agree. IF, your truck came with gauges, you might not have had a medium/dark blue wire that was terminated. I have used a 'T' and had both an oil pressure light and a mechanical gauge in a few GM cars.

Re: Engine Harness
The harness comes equipped to use either or, simply snip the wire off and that is it. M&H actually instructs you to do so with their harness if not used.

Re: Engine Harness
The blue wire goes to the oil pressure light in the dash on non-instrumented dash connectors. If you have a full instrument dash, the the blue wire goes nowhere.
