4wd to 2wd conversion help
hey Guys,
Noob to the site, in the process of converting 68 stepside 4wd to 2wd. whats the easiest way to go from 3 speed w/ granny & transfer case to reg 3 speed?? Could i just get rid of the transfer case and install a different size axle or??? Any help/ advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Rex |

if a divorced case could get rid of t-case then, find correct length driveshaft. if its got the granny gear u cant get rid of that, maybe a gear change in the rear end may help what do u have now for ratio? im not sure if its possible to bolt on a 2wd tailshaft to this 4wd tranny i know some can, why not make it easy and leave in t-case? my buddy did that, but he only lowered his 4-6 inches so he didn't have to worry about ground clearance from t-case

It would be easier to sell the 4x4 and get what you want.

A lot of guys would like to get their hands on that 4x4 frame. I would sell the frame or trade it for a 2 wheel shorty rather then all that swap work
