4 spd to automatic
ok so iv been searching the forrums and havnt been able to find out what to do with the 4 speed cross member when you swap in the automatic. i have the t 350 and the crossmember out of a 73 parts truck. i know ill have to move the factory e-brake crossmember. will the 350 fit with the 4 spd crossmember in place or do i need to remove it?

Re: 4 spd to automatic
Your gonna have to remove it
Your trans MAY fit.....'til you need to do a filter change. I've heard that some use the e brake xm as the trans mount, but I'd be inclined to beef it up a bit. there's a thread here somewhere where the guy built one to incorperate the e b with the trans member T

Here's a recent thread with input on the parking brake relocation:

Re: 4 spd to automatic
thanks you guys. iv been waiting to get started till i could find out what all i had to take out. looks like the 73 crossmember will bolt right up between the framerails so i shouldnt have to do much more than drill a few new holes in the frame.
