the shaker is getting closer to where it should be, still gotta drop the cab a couple inches though. All in all i think it will work out quite well. havent chaned any bodylines just removed flat metal in between them so it should still retain it's classic lines.

a customer showed up with a sample of wood for the bed for me. It is an African hardwood called merbau and pronounced "mer-bo". it's supposed to be insanely hard and kinda looks like a cross between oak and teak. i wanted to do something a little different and i think this stuff will work perfect for what i have up my sleeve for the bed. plus people will most likely ask "what's that" or pretend they know and i can reply "no its merbau".

Love the shaker. Dont know if you thought about it or if you would even like it, but here in town back in the day....like the late 70's there was a guy who had put the Trans Am front fender scoops into his front fenders of his 70 truck. Looks awesome from what I remember and with your shaker think it might complete the look even more. Just a thought. Either way yours is gonna be a BadAzz Truck!

got a little sidetracked lately with christmas, winter rockcrawling season, and having to replace my tow rig and heavily modify the new tow rig, but i managed to get over to the island on the weekend and get a little bit done on the little hotrod truck.
here is the first door gutted and layed out to be sectioned. |

i forgot to bring hinges for mockup and to bolt the doors on i'll have to cut out the bracing so i think i will just leave the doors tacked up to this point for now and fit it to the black cab once i section it just to make sure the door halvs end up on the same plain. i got my buddie to hold it up kinda in place though. at this point the weekend turned into a prty and nothing got done. was away from the island for a bit too long and had to catch up on socializing as well. but hey, i cut a door in half and tacked it back together.

got her cut out and screwed together. i will double cut it and butt weld it later when i know all my crazy ideas that bounce around my head like popcorn when I'm trying to sleep will work. layed her out so the braces will hide the joins so i only have to gring one side of the welds to keep the heat down.

trimed her for a 5 inch butt weld front and back but kinda freestyled an overlap using my eyecrometer for the middle which will get double cut and butt welded later too. gonna have to get crafty with the bottom of the grill opening area of the fender though.

seemed to work out OK, was a little worried bout how the fender would look above the wheel well and if it would look skinny and awkward but i think the hood adds the needed girth to pull off the 5 inch section.

I keep getting Messages bout this, the dream Is still alive, I had to side line it for a while as the restoration shop finally got hit by the economy, never ran out of work but had too many customers unable to pay their bills so I opened a sandblasting shop and am working at launching a marine division and an industrial paint division. Should be game on soon for the truck, also got sidelined by building a beater Transam. Truck is up on chassis jig now and much design and mockup has happened but not much post worthy.
