Tire size question
Howdy,
I'm going with a 2.5/4 inch drop on the stepside, and I was wondering what the widest /tallest tire is that I can run, front and rear. The wheels are wheel vintiques vette style rallies, 6 on 5.5 bp, 4" b/s, 15x8 rim size. Thanks in advance.

On '80s-style 4x4 rallies, I've got 245/60-15 front and 275/60-15 rear.
![]() Right rear from underneath... ![]() Left front... ![]() Left front again... ![]() And a shot down the left side.

TJ has a step side if it matters any...I'm not sure it does or not.

Well the fronts should still help.
![]() Most people can run a little wider than 245/60 as well. My ECE disc kit pushed my fronts a bit wider than most tho.

Thanks for the pics P 1970. I don't have the luxury of a 700R4 :p, so I'm hoping I can go slightly taller in the rear. I think 275/60/15's are right around 28" tall, I'd like to be able to run a 29" or 30", although it's probably unlikely. I like the look of the fronts though, they seem to fit just right. Thanks again.

No problem. You could probably go with something a little taller, but not a whole lot (especially if you cut your bumpstop like I did). And yes, 275/60-15 tires are 28" tall.

On the 275/60's, I'm running them, and I have loaded mine down with crap to where it was lowered about 6 inches. Hit coil bind a few times, but no rubbing.
I can't tell you the off set of my rims though. |
