water pump

just wondering, if i have a long shaft on my 454engine, can i switch to a short shaft for more clearance?i gotta change it anyway, will it make a differance?

hey lucifer! the color of my truck is a triple gold. ive been told it is a house of color, burnt orgage color. there is some coats of candy in it, but i dont know what the formula really is. there are more pictures in lets hear it for harold on this 60 to66 forum.

A short water pump is what I have on the 454 in my Suburban. If you switch from a long water pump to a short, you will have to change your crank and water pump pulleys as well as your alternator brackets and power steering pump brackets.
