Re: I need some advice
Hey buddy, I am in the same boat as you.Basically, if you can follow the wire and know that it does not pertain to what you need or want, then strip its hot and ground to free up some space. I cleaned out quite a bit of my wiring, but I still do not know what everything goes to as far as my knowledge goes. Start with a wiring diagram. If you cannot find one online LMC truck and some other classic truck parts dealers have books on them. I will say that, anything going to a relay I would thoroughly check before removal.

Re: I need some advice
I have the same problem. I posted a while back asking about Painless wiring harnesses and almost everyone said to go with American Autowire if you can afford the price. Here is the thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...inless+harness
I looked at their instructions/diagrams and they are incredibly detailed. Good luck James

Re: I need some advice
Well usually orange and white wires are associated with some kind of light. Dash light, dome, interior so on.

Re: I need some advice
We sell M&H Wiring. It is all factory color coded, has all factory ends, and exactly as the originals are right down to the gotters and clips. Not the cheapest way to go, but the best in my opinion. WES

Re: I need some advice
From past experience I would just butt splice and stow away the wires that are not needed. That way when or if you ever need wiring again it will already be routed and placed correctly. That is what my son and I have done to his..........Later

Re: I need some advice
I got the M and H wiring harness for my engine compartment and under dash. Fit perfectly no messing around had the harnesses replaced and plugged in, in an afternoon.
