SPID Paint Code
Okay here is the deal, my 1967 'burb has a paint code of 04526AA and would like to know what color it came with from the factory.
And here are some pics for you folks. Thanks.

Re: SPID Paint Code
The only part of that paint code that computes is the "526". That is the code for Ivory paint. The "04" may be relative to the plant it was built in. My SPID has letters/numbers on either side of the codes. The "AA" must mean something to the plant, or a crew, or a shift but I don't know what it would be.

Re: SPID Paint Code
Off White as a solid color was code 526 in a 1967 pickup or suburban in your case. Paint refinish numbers of Ditzler paint code 8290, Du-Pont or paint code 4195-L or Rinshed-Mason paint code A-1599.

Re: SPID Paint Code
I have several books that I use for information. The info about the paint code came from "Chevrolet Pickup Red Book", published by Motorbooks International. In includes Serial Numbers, Options and Specs, Colors and Codes and some photos and history. It covers the years of '46 to '72 and includes pickups, El Caminos, Blazers and More....
I also rely on my Truck Data Book for 1969. It is the book used by sales folks to spec and order new Chevy trucks for the '69 model year. There's another book that covers all of the Chevy trucks from 1918 to 1975 and includes such stuff as options by percentages of production. It has pix of every year model and many of the body styles, with multiple pix of some of the styles and trim options.

Re: SPID Paint Code
Try,
autocolorlibrary.com ...they have color chips in the original photos back to the 40's ....this will give you the chip number at least so you have more to work with. |

Re: SPID Paint Code
Thanks guys.
The interior is like a gold color trim while the outside looks to be repainted white. So all your information is helping a LOT. Thanks everyone. Cheers!

Re: SPID Paint Code
It's Ivory alright. That was GM's code (factory pack) and each paint company will have it's own code to cross over.I don't know why some trucks have the extra digits or what they mean. All the codes are three digit.in '67 the base model trucks either had a tannish gold (Fawn) or greyish silver (I forget that name) interior, which was the tradition until these trucks came along and started offering color options on interior trim and matching painted surfaces to exterior.
