You need to have front disks. Have you already dropped the front with springs?

i like how it rides, its a little stiff, didnt have an align yet. i was always told should get one done anytime you lower a car/truck. have you looked at lowering kits yet? i order my kit from ebay all four spring ran about 200 and the shocks i ordered from summit racing they are toxic drop shocks made by pro comp and they ran about 70 for the pair i only have those in the front in the rear i ran highjacker air shocks

Re: 1969 gmc lower /spindles/drum brakes

I picked up a 3"/4" lowering kit from CPP from a guy named Jeff Norton I met off of this site. It ran me around $300. It came with springs and shocks. I hope to get them installed this weekend or next week. Ill let you know what I think.

Re: 1969 gmc lower /spindles/drum brakes

I did mine myself on a weekend and I am no mechanic, this is a doable job with out much need for special tools or knowledge. I bought a kit from early classics had everything I needed to replace the spindles and install disk brakes. I was pretty nervous about trying to do this myself but decided to give it a go and I am glad I did, it was challenging but I learned a lot and gained some confidence to try some other jobs. I am rebuilding the rear drums starting tonight.
