GMC front trim question

Did they ever make the GMC with the small trim across the front of the hood with the smaller side trim? I have only seen GMC's with the larger fat trim that goes across and down the side of the headlights. My hood has been off the truck so long that I forgot what it looks like on. If I thinking right... isnt there a gap between the hood and the front core support if there is no trim?
Anyone got any pics?

Re: GMC front trim question

You mean like this? It has the small trim. There is no gap if u have the 67/68 top bar.

Oh and the top bar looks like this:

Re: GMC front trim question

You need a 67/68 hood which goes with the 67/68 top bar.Only '68 GMCs had that narrow trim. It's the same as 67/68 Chevy.

Re: GMC front trim question

Mine is a 68 GMC, but went I purchased it had 3 bad paint jobs all on top of each other and it had rattle can gray primer all over it. All the body parts was there including the top cross bar . Lots of good size dents and some rust in the normal spots. But now its almost completly all redone!!!!

Thanks for all the info-
Anyone have some pics of a really nice 68 GMC swb with the smaller trim?

Re: GMC front trim question

That guy has a lot of inaccurate info on that site. For instance,in '67 GMCs had no trim around the grille.None, not even Super Customs.Chevy...yes,67 & 68.GMC...no,only in '68.

Here's a survivor:
