6-8 Drop with 18&20's
Anyone got pics of that setup? I am thinking about that drop and wheel combo for my 68.

Is that an actual drop? That's pretty low.

Re: 6-8 Drop with 18&20's
Just my opinion but different size wheels is UGLY. I think it kills a truck altogether. Do one size all around.

Re: 6-8 Drop with 18&20's
I have a 5.5/7.5 on my red 69 swb.
The only way I get away with it,... I'm still running 15" wheels. (215/70 and 275/60 tires). I still have my inner fenders installed, and they are real close. Turning the front set of 18's or 20's would be the issue, unless you run a really short tire. Air bags would fix that, but I'm sure you would have issues with a static drop. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 6-8 Drop with 18&20's
not possible with big wheels you will have issues, if you want to go that low as already mentioned go with air bags...

Re: 6-8 Drop with 18&20's
The front should be fine, I know there will have to be a notch for the back but I think the pumpkin wont hit the bed. I had a 4-6 on my 67 with no notch so I am pretty sure the 8" will work with a notch..... maybe someone will chime in.

Perfect stance! Did you add shims to correct your driveshaft angle? If so, what size?

I've only driven it twice since I installed the drop. It seemed fine. It's been in storage ever since. (I have too many projects) Sorry I'm not much help.

Re: 6-8 Drop with 18&20's
A 245-45-18 is around 26.5-ish. That's a good match for 295-40-20's on 10" rear wheels @ 29.25-ish. That's what was on my 74.

Re: 6-8 Drop with 18&20's
I'd like to see pictures as well, I have the same size on my 01 tahoe and I'd like to run some on my truck but figured they'd be too big with that much of a drop.

Re: 6-8 Drop with 18&20's
Exactly..... 32" tall does not equal a low ride unless it's CUSTOM.

Re: 6-8 Drop with 18&20's
I have to resize the pics but I'll try to get them up tomorrow, latter today. The truck has a nice stance and the only interference is I lost a little in my right turn as the wheel hits the power gear box, but it is a minimal loss.
