Re: CTrow's Truck
I'll post up somewhat of an update. Hope he doesn't mind. He talked to the painter, and got him to pinpoint down a date that it would be done, and put it in writing. So hopefully the painter will come through for him.

Re: CTrow's Truck
Yep, that pretty well sums it up, playing the waiting game...
Due date agreed upon was Dec 1. I'm trying to keep optimistic but I'm guessing it will be settled in court in the end.

Not that it will make you feel any better, but they owe me money here at the store too. If you need a hand anytime going down there just let me know.

Re: CTrow's Truck
No update. Called him this week and asked if he was ready for the frame to do final fitment. He promised he'd be ready next week for it. Been trying to call him and he doesn't return messages or text messages. He used the excuse his phone has been messed up, but I reminded him he can write my phone number down, and call from a land line. And his shop manager has my number also. His response, yeah, I'm a dumba@@.
The due date is Dec 1. So hell or high water I'll be picking it up that day finished or not. I suspect it will require legal action to get it sorted out unfortunately for the money I've paid vs. the work completed.

Dropped the chassis off last week for pre-fitment but I don't think anything has been done to it. Called asking if we had the cab mounts which we left up there when we first diassembled it. Don't know if he ever found them. I've never had any expectation he'd finish it by dec1. But at least this time he signed an agreement back in sep it would be done by now. Maybe it was oct but regardless he picked the due date. Not me. In fact I gave him another month on it. So fellas it looks like I will be driving it in primer or learning to paint inthe next few months. Maybe by summer if I'm lucky. My wife and I started the Dave Ramsey plan. If you know who that is and what, you know old trucks take the back seat !!! Lol Thanks for everyones continued support... Posted via Mobile Device

Re: CTrow's Truck
Anyone interested, selling the motor and trans in the classified section.
Going to be a long time before I can work on this project again and I don't want the engine just sitting around. Too much done to just collect dust. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/c...ct=4969&cat=18

Re: CTrow's Truck
Wow! So sorry to hear about the misfortune you are having. Hope you get back on track with the build and good luck with the engine sale. BTW, who needs Dave Ramsey anyway? life is too short to not enjoy it to the fullest.

Re: CTrow's Truck
Yeah, but if you are patient, and stick with the DR plan, you will soon be able to afford way more truck and engine than you would have if you hadnt ............

Re: CTrow's Truck
So the project is officially on hold for awhile.
I've sold the motor/trans and the wheels/tires. I have a court date set for March 1 with the painter in small claims. As you can see by the picture of the bed, prep work wasnt a priority. He told me at one point he took the bed sides all the way down to metal but as you can see that wasnt true. You can see the bed color on the way to the paint shop and then see it still in the picture where it flaked out. In the mean time I bought a 2004 GMC Sierra and I'm pretty happy about it. At least I can go jump in it and drive it. And for thos DR folks, not it's not in his plan but what can I say, I fell off the wagon. And with the motor/wheels sale, I'm not that far off track. Thanks for everyones support. Maybe in another year or so you'll see more progress.

Re: CTrow's Truck
Man, I am really sorry to hear that. Hope you win big time in small claims and eventually when you're ready to get back on the project you find a great body guy/painter!

Re: CTrow's Truck
Sorry to hear about the outcome. However, I know first hand the guy is a moron. We'll probably have to see him in court to get our money too.
I am a little upset though that you told us about the 04, and no pics. |
