Something I made for my soft top

I am going to have a new top made and I dont want snaps in my tailgate I will put one more snap in the end of the squair tube for the sides and the ones that go into the tailgate will be across the back of the squair tube. Just take out 2 screws out and pulls right out. What do you think.

Nice. Are you going to do anything for the windshield frame? I'm looking to get a bikini top for next summer but am not thrilled about putting snaps in the windshield frame.

Looking at building a removable snap strip by contouring a piece of square tubing to follow the top of windshield frame and using the hard top mount points as a way to attach.

Re: Something I made for my soft top

I agree 100%, always hated having to drill the tail gate full of snaps.

The square stock should work great, good idea!

I did a similar things some years back but can't find the pics now, IIRC I used an old soft top side piece aluminum bracket and mounted it across the top of the gate same as your doing.

Re: Something I made for my soft top

That looks great.

Soft Topper sells a strip for the window frame that has all the snaps on it, but only requires drilling of 5 holes to attach it. Still not ideal, but better than drilling 20 holes.

If you come up with something that works let us know.
