Re: Replacement carpeting

The high hump and low hump refer to your cab transmission hump size. You can google images of the difference between the two. The general consensus is that carpet made by ACC, (auto custom carpets) is easily the best stuff for your money.

Re: Replacement carpeting

The high hump is for 3/4 tons, bigblocks, Granny low 4 speeds and four wheel drive. That is all I know of and all of the high humps will bolt in as oppossed to the low hump that will be stamped with the floorpan. If I am wrong [witch happens from time to time] some one will correct me. Jim

Re: Replacement carpeting

I would also look at trim parts for carpet. I have used acc and I got trim parts this time for the 4x4. The acc i had in the bb truck faded within a years time, with NO real sun exposure (in garage with car cover) which is why I went to trimparts this time. ACC is not the best in my opinon but is better than some of the others and it is readily available.

I have a 3/4 ton 72 Chevy with low hump due to automatic transmission.

I'll add to that to the best of my knowledge all the 4X4's use a different engine mount/location that moves the engine rearward and upward, all the trucks with this engine mount combination used the high hump regardless of if they had the automatic or not.
