Hey everyone. I usually hang out on the 67-72 forum, but I'm looking at this 'burb. It seems really nice. The only problem is when I pulled back the floor mat on both sides the underlay was wet. On the driver side i think it's running down in the corner where the floor and kick panel meet. On the passenger side it'd coming down in the corner too, and it was wet all along the bottom of the heater. Where do these trucks normally start leaking? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

It sounds like part of the problem is a leaking heater core. God Bless, Terry

It was just water. No anti freeze in it.

Maybe under the windshield gasket. Does the truck have much rust? Do you see anything down inside the cowl around the wiper linkages?

I have had two of these trucks leak in the area under the cowl. The seam sealer deteriorates and rust starts forming under the cowl, along the firewall and on the floor under the carpet. Check for rust!

I never looked under the cowl. I'm guessing it was stored inside before, as there is no rust at all. How hard is the seam sealer to repair?

If it is the same issue I had with my 77 it is coming from the corner of the windshield, water builds up there rusts under the gasket, pools in the corner of the dash and flows on down to the floor, then it settles on the rib that holds the door gasket on the floor and rots that out, make sure you pull that gasket up and check the floor there.

There's no rust anywhere on the floor. The truck must have been stored inside most of its life because there is only one rust spot about the size of a dime on the truck. I'm going back tommorrow to take a closer look at it.

could be coming from the flaps behind the plastic under the dash. the plastic that covers the bottom sides.

my truck had the same problem.
that flap is vacuum operated. and it was stuck open cuz a couples leafs didnt let it shut.
