Re: need advise on this one fellas (pics inside)
I looked at a burb once about an hour away that was supposed to be 98% rust free. I think he had his percentages backwards, shoulda said 2% rust free.
Being thats its 500 miles away maybe you could ask a board member thats closer to the truck to check it out for you?

Re: need advise on this one fellas (pics inside)
Much too high. For comparison, mine is a '69 C10 long fleet which I picked up for $3500. Here's a pic of it at purchase, but it was nowhere near as rough. Plus that included a full carpet, good floor, repaired cab corners, rockers, etc.

Re: need advise on this one fellas (pics inside)
sounds high for what it is. It seems like if the floor is rotted out that far in the rockers are probably gone too.

Re: need advise on this one fellas (pics inside)
I think you could do better. I like those seats though...
I would try offering 2000 since we are on the topic, do you guys think I got jipped on my truck? I payed 1200 It's nothing like this anymore, but I always wondered if I paid the right amount... maybe too much or too little? had no seat and was missing other things like front bumper and rear. nothing intact. cab and bed were not bolted to the frame. Cab was solid for the most part, just rockers and corners... the usual. engine was in the bed, no tranny Last edited by luis979motoring; 12-14-2010 at 10:06 PM. |

Re: need advise on this one fellas (pics inside)
With that hole in the floor, I would bet my life it's not a 98% rust free truck!

Re: need advise on this one fellas (pics inside)
How is it mechanically? Running/driving, brakes, trans, etc... Other than being a shortbed, i don't see much for good selling points.

Re: need advise on this one fellas (pics inside)
if it has a hole in the floor like that I would guess it has other holes in the rockers and cab kick panel. I don't know where u are in MO, but in memphis, tn these trucks come up for sale pretty often in the 2-3k range.Just my 02

Re: need advise on this one fellas (pics inside)
Weircc,
I don't know. The whole truck looks cobbled together if you ask me. I think the price is way too much. The truck does have five lug wheels. 6 lug for 67- 70 model years. Wires hanging down under steering column. Looks like some kind of towel or rag under A/C unit inside cab, maybe it is leaking. Battery cables not on terminals, maybe slow drain on system. The anti freeze bottle thing looks sketchy at best. What is the metal doodad on the passenger door inside? The truck has extra badging, i.e. 8/350 on fenders and something on drivers side cowl. I would wager that there is more rust than 2% as well. Dash is hacked up where there should be a radio. The engine compartment looks really disorganized and cobbled together. Maybe somewhat recent engine replacement of questionable orgin. Maybe a used higher mileage motor? Non stock steering wheel and seat belts. On the plus side, the body, paint, and trim look to be in good condition. I just don't think it is worth $3600 for the condition that it seems to be in. For that kind of money I would expect it to be in better condition. My .02 cents Keith Last edited by lil hoodlum; 12-14-2010 at 10:40 PM. |
