Size matters
1951 Chevy pickup 350 cid & 700R-4 with Walker Cobra radiator.
I thought I had enough room between engine and rad to keep the mechanical fan. However with air and the serpentine belt system the blade is about a half inch too close. Someone recommended a Taurus 2 speed fan and I bought one on Ebay. I wanted to use it as a pull but when fitting it I find it won't fit between the rad and motor. Does anyone know of a thin fan that might fit?

Look up SPAL fans, some of them are thin and they cool great. Their website has specs and drawings, but you'll have to convert from metric measurements.

I showed you this before and sorry I can't look at it now.. it's in storage and cold. What I remember is that I used a cut-off wheel to cut the mounting flanges on the radiator and inverted them to the motor side by welding them back to the other side of the radiator. And as Blue jeep mentioned the fan is a spal and also has flanges. I also fabbed a brace in the top front for the support.
