Re: What did you get done12/19/10 edition

I had my wisdom teeth pulled out on Friday morning. Just starting to feel semi normal Monday night. Nothing truck related done at all. It is beautiful here all week, too.

Re: What did you get done12/19/10 edition

I actually made some decent progress & completed the duel tank mounts & bolted the 50 gallon fuel tank into the bed.

Now I'm onto the fuel pump wiring & MSD wiring ... both I'm not so confident with.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: What did you get done12/19/10 edition

I'd dig the barter plan .... ANYONE???

As for the fill ups ... what's $150.00 per "tank" full .... anyway?

I didn't want to run the original tanks cause I lost 1 fuel pump just prior to the FI/carb change & the other has junk in it. I'd just rather remove them both & run 1 bed mounted tank.

Any reason you went a narrower tank that's 'deeper' into the length of the bed vs. making it shorter in length & wider?

Re: What did you get done12/19/10 edition

Well .... I'll tell ya:

That tank was actually a damaged diesel fuel tank from a PENSKE truck that was being tossed in the metal dumpster. I repaired the holes ... installed the pro werks filler neck & bed mounts. I also addeed a center fuel p/u -ala -8 AN fitting. So ... that was why I ended up with that tank shape. Plus it was polishable aluminum!!

COST .... free + the time & effort with the roller & welder.
