What did you get done 12/26/2010 end of year edition

Ive been tied up with lots of personal issues the last week. I am still contemplating buying a new shortbed truck that is in better shape than the longbed i have but other than that there has been nothing truck related.
I hope all had a good holiday season
How about you all did you do anything?

Got a Tach dash, a tailgate band all the exterior and interior trim today for $50, then traded the rest of a wrecked Hyundai i bought for a 73 GMC Serria Grande front clip.

If you look close you can see the trim in the back window of the E30

Re: What did you get done 12/26/2010 end of year edition

Started snowing last night and hasn't stopped, 12" so far. I hate snow by the way. 12" is pretty much our 10-12 year accumulation, bummer getting it in one day. I wouldn't mind it so much if I lived next door to a Wal-Mart, auto parts and was a retired millionaire.

I did clear a path to the garage and worked on the floors of my '50. The driver side is 90% complete along with the passenger side. As soon as this snow clears out I'll be moving the chassis into the garage to begin installing the S-10 frame clip. I might drive this thing in 2011 after all.

Bought a Battery Charger/Maintainer and put it on. Took some pictures of the interior to take to a shop to get some prices on getting it wraped in leather.

Picked up a $50 "Test fitted once and I found all new GM metal for my truck door"

Also picked up new full size inner rockers w/ floor drop offs, battery mount and tray, gauge lens for my tach cluster and a floor support.

It does have a 427 block and parts from various 427 motors. It will end up with a nice strong 454 in the end.
It has not been run for 20+ years

Well i was painting the inside of the bed black on the 81 and had some extra paint so i laid down some tape and painted stripes on the cowl hood..lol..and blacked out the chevy emblem in the grill.
before:

After:

Also removed the old tint and re-tinted all the windows, but no pics of that as it was night time by the time i was finished.

Re: What did you get done 12/26/2010 end of year edition

Went to 2 family celebrations + Christmas at home. Finally, yesterday, I removed the rest of the worn out suspension on 1 side of my trailer and installed new springs/shackles/equilizer/bolts etc. 25 degrees and a darn cold wind. Then I took the tractor (had to use the 77 GMC to jump start it) and cleared off the snow from the barn until it wouldn'd go no more - 2' of snow packed so hard that the tractor would ride up on it (and this tractor weighs 4500#)! Another 20' to get to the plowed driveway.

Today I go get the next to last load of 'stuff' out of the family barn, been there for 30 years, now it goes to scrap or into my barn. All that will be left out there are 2 engines that I need my hoist to extract.

I hope to haul a load of scrap this week, just to make room in the barn.
