Blazer Tranny Decisions
Need some help from my 75,000 best friends. The TH350 in my 72 Blazer is intermittently slow going into drive and reverse. It sat for 2 years with very limited use. Worked great up until I parked it. Changed fluid and put some Seafoam transmission tune in it to see if it would flush it out a little. Some aluminum dust and steel slivers in the pan. Does it about every 3rd or 4th time I get in it. Put it in gear and have to rev it up a little to get it to engage. Will go right in several times, and I think its not going to do it anymore, and then the next time I fire it up it does it again. Is it trying to tell me it is at the end of its lifespan? Just seems weird that it only does it sporadically. I have a complete 4 speed set up, and most of a 3 speed manual setup that I would like to swap one or the other in, but I am just trying to keep it so the women and children can drive it as long as possible. Any thoughts on this tranny, and also the 3 and 4 speed swaps, and which would be the least time consuming? Thanks guys.
