crossover steering

well guys I've decided to adapt the crossover steering to my 69 4x4 but I have the old style front axle ( ball & trunnion ? ) Does anyone make a steering arm for these ? I think this one would attach to the top RH knuckle where the pivot bearing is . Has anyone done this before ? I can't afford the newer style axle for a while so I have to work with what I've got ! Thanx.

Charlieo, I don't have my old closed knuckle axle anymore so I couldn't tell you for sure whether or not it would work. I would guess that if the passenger knuckle (be it open or closed) has a flat pad for mounting the arm to accept a tie-rod end, you should be able to make it work. If not, some machine work might be required and that may cost you more than swapping in a later model disc brake open knuckle axle.
