gas tank question

does anyone know if a 65-66 mustang sending unit will read correctly on my stock gas gauge, i've got a 64 gmc and gonna run the mustang tank in the rear. just need to know if i need a new gas gauge. thanx for any help.

The early Ford sending units operated a little differently...full should be around 10 ohms and empty is around 73 ohms. The early GMs were 0 ohm empty to 30 ohm full.
