Re: Project Where'd The Money Go
OK, finally got the prop valve installed. Still need the bracket. Hopefully will pick that up at H&H next week.

It is a Brother's Kit. It's OK. The door trim pieces aren't the best fit and they are expensive if you have to take them off and break any of the tabs (which you pretty much break tabs if you have to take them off). If I had it to do over, I'd look a little deeper into the One Piece Products kit. You could handle the install without much issue, I'm sure. It was one of the first projects we did on the truck and it wasn't too bad. They provide decent instructions too. Back when we bought this set, the One Piece Products window kit had just come out and it was still unproven. I'm sure by now there is a lot more info out there on it and any problems installers have had.

Re: Project Where'd The Money Go
Anyone know what proportioning valve bracket we need with our booster setup? We tried the one H&H sells buts it falls way short of reaching the booster mounting bolt. In hindsight, it makes sense that this doesn't work because our setup is not the stock booster. I'm thinking we may just have to build a custom bracket.

Re: Project Where'd The Money Go
Hahaha, I'm going to cram tomorrow. The wife's 30th B-Day is today so I should probably stay away from the truck today. And yes, I'm still planning to meet up with you all. Looking forward to it. I was going to work on it Monday too, but then I remembered that OTHER important day. And here's your fair warning too!!

OK, first up - the "Good" from the weekend:
Installed FatMat (RattleTrap variety): And the builders hard at it:

Re: Project Where'd The Money Go
Fuel lines were next (Poly-Armour type from Autozone):
The intricate bends needed to get to fitting on top of tank in back of truck: We had to lift the bed up a bit to get to the top of tank. We went redneck on it. 4x4s and jacks. Worked pretty slick: Help, I'm trapped: Left extra on for now until we determine the exact alignment for the turn up. We will use flex hose to the pump and then hardlines out of pump to the carb.

Re: Project Where'd The Money Go
Now, for the "Bad" - I'm dealing with the ugly realization that I have a van column and not a tilt from another truck. Stupid neutral safety switch is in the wrong place. And column is almost irreversibly installed. Not sure which route we are going to go yet, but I started another thread for help over here:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=448207 If you have any ideas on how to answer my questions in that thread, please share. I'm stumped at the moment. These are the things that slow a build down and discourage its completion. Argh@!!

Re: Project Where'd The Money Go
I had the same problem using the van steering column(price was too good to say no) I have tilt, but no back-up lights and neutral safety...I am thinking about moving the column down and see if that give me enough room to mount the switch...but for right now, I'm running without!
