vin number on frame?
Hey guys,
IronHorse stopped by today and while we were shooting the breeze, he pointed out the number that's stamped on the frame. (I cleaned up the engine compartment the other day and now you can actually see stuff like that). Anyway, it's stamped on the top of the driver's side frame rail about 3 or 4 inches aft of where the steering gearbox mounts. Is this supposed to be the vin number? if so it doesn't seem to match the plaque on the door jamb. the number is; 2S199365. I think that I remember a post about this a while back, but since search is disabled, I thought that I'd ask the experts

Thats what I thought, but the data plaque on the door says that the vin is CCE142S110996. Based on what you've said, I guess that either the cab or the plaque are not original to the frame...
