Single Best Mod?

With so many things that we can do to our trucks while we are rebuilding them,I was wondering what was the best mod that you did to yours?Could be something as simple as a steering wheel or maybe something more involved like a tranny!

Re: Single Best Mod?

Wiring harness... single best thing i've ever done to my truck... Painless kit and it was easy... no more grounding issues, no more questions on why things don't work... it's all new..

Re: Single Best Mod?

For me it was the disc brake conversion...hands down best thing I ever did to my truck and it wasn't all that expensive...

Re: Single Best Mod?

I would say power front or complete disc brake conversion, definitely makes a big difference over 4 wheel drums!

Re: Single Best Mod?

I have 3 in mind
1. Upgrade brakes to power disc
2. HEI
3. New Wiring
But my single best would be brakes. That makes it safer for you and everybody else.

Without a doubt, my single best Mod was buying my GM Performance Parts (GMPP) 350.

And my second would be the Hedman Headers going though my Hooker SS Aerochamber mufflers.

Re: Single Best Mod?

Front Disk Brakes...of course you need new spindles...hey, the 2-1/2" drop spindles are the same price as the regular ones!...while I've got it apart I might as well put new springs in it...and shocks...and....and...

Re: Single Best Mod?

I bought mine as a driver with power discs up front, 5 lug conversion and a 67 nose...so far the best upgrades have been a Painless harness which made all my gauges and lights work as they should, just have to replace all the grounds now...

Re: Single Best Mod?

Already had HEI and disk brakes when I bought it. The best mod I'VE done so far is a front sway bar.

Re: Single Best Mod?

HEI,Disc Brakes are a tie.The sway bar and PS will probably tie for third.Although the ????? swap meet seats do make it a lot more comfortable.and the new tires done with the PDB's really made it ride nicer.
