Duramax Swap Pics

I was flipping through my latest issue of "Diesel Power" mag, and spotted a '70 C-10 with a Duramax swap. If anyone has the March 2011 issue of Diesel Power it's on page 66 in the lower left corner. It only has one pic of it, I'm wondering if maybe he's a member on here or not. Says it's owned by Joe Komaromi from PPE.

Anyone know if he's a member and/or have any more pics of his truck?

Re: Duramax Swap Pics

Really no info on it at all. Just one pic of it in the "Duramax Day" coverage article. Just one picture and the caption reads, "Joe Komaromi of Pacific Performance Engineering owns this '70 Chevy C-10 repowered with a Duramax engine. Diesel Power Associate Editor Jason Sands got the honors to drive the immaculate, 650hp creation to the event."

That's all the info I got.

They did a whole story on it last summer issue I believe . You might be able to look it up on their website.

Re: Duramax Swap Pics

Yea, that's PPE Diesel's truck. I believe they make standalone Duramax and Allison ECM/TCM harnesses now.

Re: Duramax Swap Pics

Here is an example of a burb running around my town.
I talked to the guy on the phone, after I spotted it parked at the local Home Depot parking lot.

He said that he got a late model 4 door PU that was a roll over, and gutted it of the drive train wiring and interior. He said the frame was shortened approximately 2 feet, then the old burb body was placed on to it.

Re: Duramax Swap Pics

That is a very nice truck. These swaps are really time consuming even if you purchase the wiring harnesses to complete them. Plus you will drop a lot of money in then quick!

Either of those would destroy that weak T56 under the weight of a truck.

Sounds awesome! You know you're about to get hammered with requests for pics and a build thread, so you may as well start posting them!

I think I talked to you at your GoodGuys swap space on Saturday and went over and looked at your burb. That is a sweet ride.
