Door Glass - Blue Green Tint vs Clear?

I have two sets of doors for my '71 GMC. The doors that came with the truck have a blue-green tint but the replacement doors came with clear.

Why the difference? I am assuming they are both original. The clear have the LOF imprint. I don't remember if the tinted ones do.

Is the blue-green set rare or only specific to a certain year?

Thanks for any responses.

Usually the A/C trucks got the tinted, but it was available on any of them.

My burb has the tinted, and I really like it.
Matched with the green paint color I run, it just has a really nice look to boot.

Personally, I just think it's classic cool.

BTW: My burb is a non A/C truck.

Tinted were usually in the A/C trucks, but I believe that you could get it in a non A/C also.

If you plan on tinting your windows use the clear windows and sell the factory tinted window to someone that wants the factory tint.

Would be a shame to modern tint over factory tint.

I like the factory tint myself, it has a cool classic look to it.

Big-Blue, both should be LOF. the tinted should say Soft Ray. If you would like a matched set let us know which you prefer and we will send you either a clear or tinted no charge as we have several of both.
Hope that helps Paul and Jason

Re: Door Glass - Blue Green Tint vs Clear?

Thanks for all the info. I have a pair of both tinted and clear but thanks for the wonderful gesture Paul and Jason.

The wierd part of the tinted glass is that it was out of a 3/4 ton, no air Minnesota farm truck!

Re: Door Glass - Blue Green Tint vs Clear?

I just parted a 67 and a 72, both non-air trucks with tinted glass.
