Glock, Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to do this write up. I ended up with the 6 cyl stands in the rear position and modified my 1" set back plates to be like your #3 plates on both sides.

We are putting a 93 SBC 5.7 in a 67 c10. Current plan is to bolt engine straight to bell housing and tranny (muncie granny low 4 spd) leaving drive train intact, (engine a little further back that original v8 position.)
Do any of you know which engine mount(s) styles/adapters we'll need? Thanks. Mark

With standard 292 cid mounts (or 250 cid)...the C10 had a 250 in it when we got it and originally had a 292 according to the glovebox label? (I think someone told me the 2 are different).

yeah the 292 mounts are different one is the same and the driver side is the 6 cyl mount that mounts in the back set of holes ont he crossmember.

This is somewhat related; I have Solidworks 2011, and have designed my own plates based on the #2 plates shown by glock. If anyone would like some designed differently, PM me how far forward/back you would like the motor to sit with a few dimensions, and I can drawn/design them up and see if I can send them to you in a pdf or something. I just need to know which way the SBC holes need to move compared to the LS holes to move it forwards or backwards. I did mine in 1/4" steel, but can change the material to anything from steel, aluminum, pvc, plastic, carbon fiber, whatever. I'll see if I can figure out how to post some pics from Solidworks, or if I even can. Being in Mechanical Engineering has its perks

I thought some of y'all might like to see how I notched my a/c bracket to work with the plates that move the engine forward 1 1/4". I'm putting the POL stands in the 6 cyl holes which moves the engine back about 2 5/8" so in total my engine should move back about 1 3/8".

Does anyone know who makes an engine cross member/mount for the LS engines for the 67-72 4x4 trucks other than Pacific Fab? Cause I really don't want to pay $400 for their's.

All the adapter plate options noted use the original motor mounts. Has anyone used the LS mounts?

I didn't like the price of the Pacific fab one either and i didn't think that it look very good so i built my own. I used schedule 80 seamless pipe and fittings buffed the welds down flush then blasted and painted it. I probably don't have more than $50.00 in it including the poly bushings. Here are some pictures. If you want some pictures of it installed let me know.

I just pulled the BBC/TH400 out of my 71 2wd blazer. I have purchased a 5.3 4l60 for my swap. The center line of my existing bbc mounts and tail shaft measure out to be within a 1/4" of the center line of the ls mount and tail shaft. It looks as if everything would line up pretty well. I was wondering if it is possible to use adapter plates with my BBC mounts for the install or if I should should change them out to SBC? Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated!

OK, my mount/cross member situation is a little different then most but I will share it just the same. I modified the original mounts and attached them to a 2X2 cross member. This is bolted to the outside of the frame for drop-down engine removal. Using the F-body pan the 2X2 sits with it's bottom edge 1/4" below the pan. Of course this system isn't gonna work for front engine mount, but for mid engine it's the ticket.
Exhaust clearance issues?....hahaha! I laugh at exhaust clearance issues. Rob

Lots of good info here but my head is kinda swimming with a bunch of unsure. I have a 68 C30 that I'm going to be converting to a C10 and it doesn't have any motor mounts, towers, or engine. I have a 2002 5.3 and 4l60 to go in it. My question is, what mount would be the easiest on the wallet and ease of installation since I am starting from scratch with no original hardware? Thanks in advance for any support.

are these 6 cyl mounts? back wards? i have 01 4.8 going into 68. was originally 6cyl. but had 305 in it. would like to put it as close to where 305 was as possible. to maintain driveshaft length.
