Re: Rattle Can Green: Opinions

Im REALLY considering it.

I found a baby blue rustoleum that matches my truck really well, if you look closely, where the 67 68 trim went, there was the OEM med. blue, I washed the truck and rattle caned it, you can barely tell from 10 ft

My truck is Olive Drab "rattle can". Most people think it's primer. It'll do until I can save up for paint.

Rattle can spray dries in minutes. Still, you could always head to a local car wash and use one of the empty bays, or under the bay where the vacuum canisters are.

For an even more interesting adventure, pull into a Sonic and paint it there!

Re: Rattle Can Green: Opinions

wow i think i would be banned from sonic if i did that. I'm in houston so the car wash is too crowded. i used to paint guitars and if i did it outside it always ended up with dirt ir pieces of leafs in it. theres a parking lot near my house with a fence on one side and a building on the other. maybe there will block the wind.

Re: Rattle Can Green: Opinions

got me thinking about this rattle can idea. my truck is three different colors. I wonder if you want to get a professional paint job later on would this make it more difficult to paint or more expensive.? looks like a flat or semi gloss would work best. Lowes has a large selection of spray paint. going to check it out tomorrow.

Re: Rattle Can Green: Opinions

$3.50 a can?!??

I go down to Rodda industrial paint and have them mix me up a gallon of their finest, any color I want, flat or shiny, and they color match.
$22 for the paint and another $20 for the xylene
Forty two bucks and I have enough to spray at least two trucks.

Some rattle can spray dries in minutes. We have been using some Rustoleum Semi-Flat black at work that takes forever to dry. The Krylon 1613 Semi-Flat black is dry to a touch in minutes. But, it goes on much thinner than the Rustoleum.
