Mid-Shorty Headers
ok I didn't want to spend alot of money right now but I do need Headers to complete my exhaust, I have lowered my truck quiet a bit and my old long tube headers almost dragged the ground. any how I was wondering if anyone has any input on these headers off ebay or has used them.

Re: Mid-Shorty Headers
Mid length Camaro/Chevelle headers will not fit without extensive modification of the engine stands....Ask me how I know....

Re: Mid-Shorty Headers
is it alot of work that has to be done. I noticed a few on here that used them and had to only mod the top of the towers. is that correct

Re: Mid-Shorty Headers
I'll get pics tomorrow, the tops need to be all but removed and then reinforcement welded in below that. At least that is what I will be doing once I get the exhaust finished....
If you have a welder and are willing to do the mods needed then I guess its worth it. I know shory/mid-length Camaro/Chevelle headers are relatively inexpensive and the exit point of the collectors seems much better than the full length truck headers I've seen so far.

Re: Mid-Shorty Headers
ok great would be interested in pictures if thats possible to be sure of what I will have to modify. I also do have the fabricating tools needed to do all the work and am very handy with this sort of mods. I am just am not into paying a fortune on headers.
Thanks for the info screamin_c10

Re: Mid-Shorty Headers
I have the Hedman Camaro/Chevelle Mid-Lengths. I also had to modify the motor mount stands, wasn't that big of deal though. Thr driver side on mine needed alot more then the passeger side did. Still need to re-paint them. I know the passenger side looks like it is hitting in the photo but it has a good 1/2" clearance all around the tube.

Re: Mid-Shorty Headers
Do some research read the sellers feedback people are not happy with these headers. They say cheap made in china. And poor quality. I read this sellers feedback and a few others who sell theses headers and they all say the same poor quality.

I have 2 sets of these and yes the build quality is not the greatest and yes the chrome is crappy but the tubing is thick, bends are clean, flanges are straight and VERY thick and they do not leak so far. I've seen worse out of lower end brand name headers. In my case, both sets are on drivers, not show vehicles and I fully expect them to flake, rust, and eventually rot out to the point of replacement as ANY header will do... The nice thing about them is that they provide alot of clearance for very little money compared to others....

I used dynomax 3/4 length for malibu/chevelle and they bolted on no problem with NO modification to either frame or engine stands ... <shrug>

But I did find these on Ebay and was wondering if anyone has tried them, These look to have the right angles to clear the motor towers but wasnt to sure on how they would fit between the frame and motor. The reason I keep looking is because I do not want to have to modify the motor towers and I want mid length headers just like alot of others on the forums, These here do look to be a decent set but not coated and thats not a problem for me. Its the clearance and length. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WOW-N...#ht_2274wt_941
