Heater Hose Connection Question.
I just picked up a new radiator from Autozone for my 71 350/350, and it doesn't have a connection for the heater hose, which my old radiator does. I see in the service manual that on manual transmission trucks the heater hose goes to the water pump, not the radiator. Any reason that won't work on my automatic?
If not, what does the connection at the water pump look like? There are two plugs on the water pump; one at the top and the other on the passenger side. Do I need to get a fitting to thread into one of these? Thanks, Richard

Re: Heater Hose Connection Question.
The pic above is obviously a long water pump. If you have the stock short pump, the factory had a hose nipple that was almost 3'' long that threaded into the lower part by the lower hose. You can though put the return hose from the heater core into either the top or bottom. Pressure to the core comes from the intake underneath the t-stat and the return goes into either the pump or radiator. Hope that helps.

Re: Heater Hose Connection Question.
Thank you. Helpful as always. Looks like I just have to find the nipple and I'm good to go.

Re: Heater Hose Connection Question.
Thanks. Got the nipple this morning from O'Reilly's, so I should be in business.
