Bellhousing for muncie or saginaw
Does anyone know if a sm465 transmission (4 speed floor) bell housing from a 1969 may accept a Muncie or Saginaw transmission without major modification?

Re: Bellhousing for muncie or saginaw
The pilot hole in your truck bell is 5 1/8", vs 4 11/16 for the car. You need a ring to press over the input bearing retainer, to properly center the trans if you use a M20/21/22 Muncie or Borg warner T- 10. For the saginaw trans, you can use the front bearing retainer from a 68 up (truck) saginaw 3 spd. You need to bolt & nut the bottom 2 ears on the trans, as the bottom holes in the bell are not theaded. Also, if you can swap to a 67 or older truck bell, the center hole is the proper size for the car trans. Pretty much bolt in crazyL
