Heater Box Reconditioning

Hey guys,

I'm planning a heater core replacement soon, and in the past I saw where sum of yous had reconditioned the heater box with some type of oil or compound or....whatever. Anybody know what that might be? I did a couple of searches but couldn't locate what it was I saw. Thanks for the hep.

Why not just clean it up, degrease it and spray it with some clear? That's my plan for my heater box.

Re: Heater Box Reconditioning

Well I suppose that's an option, I just know what I saw before looked awesome and I remember the guy saying he used something on it but can't for the life of me remember what it was...You know how it is when you get that first impression and it's a good one, you just want to repeat it if you can, not try something new.

One thing i've learned is when you see something on this board you like, it's a whole lot easier to just save the thread in your favorites than it is to try and "find it later".

Thanks for the suggestion though, I just may have to do that.

Right on Dads! Thanks man! As soon as I read your reply I said to myself "yeah, that's the stuff!"

Once again, this board (the people on it, rather) comes through. Thank you.
