No, how would I test it. I found it at the junkyard a few days ago and BOUGHT it soon as I could before the truck was crushed LOL.

I can test it on my truck, I havent really LOOKED at it much I cut the pigtail for the tach also (should be pictured).

just make sure to ground the tach properly so you don't fry it.

Yeah, I dont wanna fry anything, theres 2 wires comming off of it, right? What goes where? I know aftermarket tach 1 goes to hot 1 goes to dizzy.

Three total. One goes to hot, one to the tach spot on the HEI, and one to a (good) ground.

What up with all the discoloration of the tach face?
Is that on the lense or tach itself?

Its on the tach itself. I dunno if it'd wash off or what it is really.

It's normally rust that discolors them like that. I had one like that I posted on ebay....

I haven't ever found a way to get it off...the factory lettering is pretty easily removed if you're not gentle so you can't scrub it off. I thought of trying CLR on one....was going to try it on a oil gauge that looked similar when I get some CLR or limeaway...

You will not get it off and it is rust. The speedo and fuel gauge were silk screened and the tach,temp,oil pressure and volt (battery) were painted. You can rub the painted gauges pretty hard but the speedo and fuel will wipe off if you are not careful.

I really can't right now....gotta buy some more parts for my 72. I gotta pass altogether....

My advice would be to take it all apart, clean the lens with warm water and wipe the gauge faces with a damp cloth, put a decent used bezel on it from a C10, polish the lens, and throw it up on ebay. You might get the $300 you were asking...
