Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Its magic I tell ya.

Yes it hangs down about 2.75 inches, but I have been planning a dash lower valance panel to house my modern key switch, heated seat controls, cruise control, and a few other things. I will just run it all the way across to the passenger side and that way I can put the Pass. heat switch over there for the pass. I have been planning some sort of video screen, so now that the the ac unit is blocking some of the depth for a radio and ashtray, I am thinking of mounting a flatscreen there. Gotta be able to watch movies on the road trips !

It doesn't stick down that much lower than a stock A/C box actually...probably 3-4" or so more....
...are you going to be able to integrate the controls somehow?
I will be using the plug and play controls from the new truck located in the factory spot.

You running beanch or buckets...
Glovebox will be quite shallow, but all I usually have in there is napkins for kid cleanup.
I am running the full black leather setup from the 2002 donor truck - buckets with a flip up middle seat.

It's the real deal.
I'll need to massage it a little more, but it is in there with no dash mods. I trimmed a little off of the new ac unit, and I still have a lot to do on the fire wall. I have more work on the other side of the firewall with the wiring harness rubber grommet, and finish up the cowl rain divert-er area. After that I might be ready to edge in the fire wall and interior. The interior valance will be covered in upholstery, so no need to make or paint that now.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Nice work on the a/c heater unit. I really like the idea of using modern system. I also like that you can save some big bucks on your build. I must be nice to have access to all those late model rigs......keep the pics coming.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Here is a pic I found here on the site of what the lower dash valance might look like. Not doing a console in the middle, but I think the extra 3 inches on the bottom of the dash looks nice.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Picture time.

I built a bed for a friend and I pulled the last 6.0 Denali engine today, so not much done on the crew cab.

Built a filler panel/rain gutter for the firewall.

Yes, it is wider. The rain gutter follows the curve of the blower motor hole.

We'll let you slide on the limited progress just this once since you did build a bed and remove an engine also....

....but only this once....
