Thanks for thread, unlike other models, this pickup was never intended to be the second car. As small farms started to dissappear, so did the production numbers for the 1 ton 9' stepsides. I count 4 different wheels on this one, the right front being the only original (1 piece tubeless 17.5").

interesting that they have it as a 10,000 GVW with only single rear wheels.

Great link. I enjoyed looking at all the pictures. In fact I saved most of them to my hard drive so I can view them.

I like all the 67-72 Chevy trucks step sides and fleets, but I have step sides. I would like to have one of the real long ones. I have a '67 swb stepper and a '71 lwb stepper.

i have a 67 1 ton stepside i picked up for parts for my sons 67 gmc cab/chassis. turns out only 249 were built in canada like that. mine also has a dealer installed hydaulic dump on it. its pretty rough but fun to use around the yard.

I went and looked at one of these not too long ago, I'm sure longhorn remembers me askin him about it. Its here in michigan in a place called Highland. The truck was not quite as nice as this one but he only wanted 1500 for the thing. It had a v8 in it and a 4 speed as well. It ran pretty good, but no test drive, no brakes. The guy was really cool. He had 10 or so trucks all in storage spaces he rents. He wanted to sell a few of them. If anyone closer to michigan is interested let me know. I want to buy it if I can come up with the cash but I would love to see someone on the board take it home and fix it up.

It has a 9 foot bed,you don't see many of them.My summer project is building a long stepside bed 67 chevy small back window 1-ton 4x4 truck.

with gas prices going up to 4 to 5 dollars a gallon i would say that now is not the good time to list a 1 TON TRUCK FOR SALE WITH A 9 FOOT BED! hahaha....... I STILL WANT IT!

I know of one in a junkyard by me. It has been sitting there a while but still pretty solid. I always thought it was kind of neat.

Did all the 1 tons with 9 foot beds come as stepsides? The reason I ask is because I've seen a few of them on here but haven't seen a 9 foot fleet.

GM built one ton pickups for years. They are all 9' Stepsides because the short C/30 chassis is a 133" wheelbase vs 127" wheelbase of the long C/10 & C/20. In '68-72 GM produced the Fleetside C/30 and called it the Longhorn (Chevy) and Custom Camper (GMC),which had 8'6" beds. Only the extra 6" in wheelbase was added to the front of the bed.

Okay, that's what I thought because I knew that the longhorns were 8.5' beds.

Single wheel. I always thought that 10,000 lbs was the norm.
