rear brake confusion

having trouble getting my brakes together is the orange spring and the light grey one in the right spot or should they be swapped? the grey one is barely in their i can flick it off. also where do i attach the parking brake cable? thanks guys

292, sorry my pic looks so bad. I don't have a after pic yet, but you can see you are pretty close. Just missin one spring and the grey spring needs to be rotated and hooked in there a little different. Like the orange one in your pic top left.

ok thank you! i had nothing their before so i couldn't use my old ones as a guide. does the e brake cable go in the shoe?

There is an "arm" that the ebrake cable attaches to, that then is attached to the front shoe. There should be a clip that holds the arm to the shoe.

I just completely disassembled mine yesterday. No, I didn't take any pix. But, I do have my '69 Shop manual and a little experience....hopefully, it'll be enough.

At Sears, we'd do one side at a time....to save the other for a reference. Sometimes, the reference side was even correct before we tore it down.

well then im missing that arm...and their was no reference to go off of in my cause the passenger side was an empty drum and the drivers missing most with wireties holding it together.

wish i had found that site! so i am missing that arm for the e brake, ok that makes it alot clearer, i felt i was missing something but i couldnt figure out what thanks guys guess its back to the parts store again. god i hope the wife really loves me....
